It’s my HUGE ASS (In my opinion) ADSENSE CHECK! I have been waiting for this sucker for a whole month. Without Much Ado here it is:

RIP: Proxies are now officially dead.
It seems the last month and a half has been horrible for proxies. No one knows this better than me. I WAS pulling in close to $100 a day on my good days, and upto $40 on Sunday.
Buildup:
It was bound to happen, there were over 9,000 proxies listed at a Proxy.org. At this point in time it is at 5k. The list blew up over a 1 month time period.
The reason it happened is because the few people that were selling proxies had sold a few, now when you sell a site you have to show the stats, people were seeing stats with traffic increasing upto 500 visitors a day. And the sellers guranteed that you did not have to do anything as the traffic would continue to increase.
This is what got me into the proxy business, and when I started in December it was beautiful. Traffic was growing so fast from 1 site that my VPS was continually being shut down. I was making upto $80 a day from one site.
Than my adsense account got banned. Luckily I was able to get it back, but not everyone is that lucky.
With so many people getting interested, turnkey proxies started selling for as low as $10. People could buy one for $10 and start enjoying the benefits immediatly.
Blogs like mine started popping up, encourging people and showing the profits that could come! Hell last month I showed you all a screenshot of my adsense account with $1,500 in it. People were jumping on the Proxy Train… But all the seats were taken.
Decline:
I believe the decline started when everyone and their dog was buying a proxy putting it on shared hosting, and selling once their hosting account got suspended. Did you really think that your $5 a month hosting was going to let you host a site that would kill a VPS or even a dedicated server? So now we had a state where people were selling proxies for quick sales or for a cheap profit. While a regulare site goes for 10x-12x revenue. A proxy only sells for about 4x, and even that if your very lucky.
The next step was when everyone started offering proxy hosting… Did you really think you would be able to offer people unlimted bandwidth for $5 a month? I don’t blame some of these malicous hosts for trying, they had a very good niche. Finding a good proxy host is harder than looking for Atlantis but a reliable one can be found. These hosts put alot of proxies in limbo being up and down for a various times.
The nail in the coffin has to be the proxy.org scandal that rocked the proxy world. Some people claimed that Proxy.org was sending robotic traffic to click on peoples ads to get them more money so that the advertising money they spent seemed justified. What I really believe happened is someone malicous was using the sites listed at proxy.org to try to get webmasters banned. I believe this is what happened with me in December, and I still believe it is what is happening now. Who ever did it got what they wanted either way. The listings of proxies at proxy.org have declined from 9k to 5k in a matter of days. Till Death or Low Profits Do You Part:
This Sunday I have officiailly pulled in about $1. This month I have done about $20 worth of advertising though, and only made a total of $450. The good ol’ days are now gone. That is from over 150 proxies. Okay I haven’t advertised all 150 yet, but still this is getting ridiculous. The month of May I believe will be my last with Proxies.

Breaking into the top 40,000 at Technorati and some other milestones
Objective:
Making this blog popular and making sure people check in and know that Mubinahmed.com is the place to be!
Milestone #1:
Getting a backlink from John Chow. John runs a pretty famous blog, and is the reason why I started blogging in the first place. Getting a back link from him was simple enough. All’s I had to do was review his blog and he gave me and everyone else that reviewed him a backlink!
Milestone #2
Breaking into the top 40,000 at technorati. If you don’t know what technorati is… join the club. From what I have been able to figure, it is a place with a listing of almost all the blogs on the internet. Your blog is rated by the number of backlinks to your blog from OTHER blogs, not just from other sites. Check out the listing here:
I dare you to click on the picture and see what happens. It’s kinda evil!
Milestone #3
Getting 2,000 backlinks. It wasn’t easy but I guess as you start adding content people will link to your site on messageboards, and on their own sites. I love looking through my stats to find out who has been linking to me.
Milestone #4
Getting 800 visitors in one day! When the story about my $1,500 month with proxies was posted on DigitalPoint by me I may add, almost everyone that read the thread came straight to the blog, it was great 800 visitors the first day, than 500 and than 400.
Milestone #5
Getting a PR of 2. Alrite so it’s not the best in the world but what the hell, not bad for a personal blog. I hope that some of those 2k links will be better indexed by Google during the next update so that I can get a better PR. The benefits of having a better PR are listed in this post about Google not updating the PR.
Milestone #6
Getting 2 Paid Reviews on this Blog. The first one I was paid $5 and was told that the blogpost would get dugg. I jumped on the oppurtunity. Unfortunetly the blog did NOT get dugg, I have left the post up because well he did pay $5, that was when the blog only had about 3 posts though.
Another one was the post about the backlink checker and the pr checker. That one was for $15, Im sure Mong got his money worth because that was in the days that the blog was getting crazy traffic.
At this point in time it costs $60 for a review on this blog from ReviewMe. If you would like to contact me directly get on DigitalPoint and PM me, my user name is Mubin. The blog gets lots of webmaster traffic!
Goals
Thats enough milestones for now. Some of the goals I would like to achieve with this blog:
- Getting a PR7
- Breaking the top 1k at technorati
- Getting 10k backlinks
- Getting a front page Digg
- Breaking the 50k Alexa Ranking
- Turning a Profit from this blog
I think thats enough for now. Later I will tell you how you can help me achieve these goals!
Adsense and Blogs: Making Money writing for Fun and Profit
I know I know. You saw the ads in the last post! MUBIN YOU SOLD OUT! Sheesh, I have been selling out for the longest time. I would sell out so fast some of you would never believe that I took and ACED Business and Ethics at Manchester Metropolitan University!
Ethics doesn’t have anything to do with this decision. At first I had decided that I would only keep the blog ad-free until I hit the 500 daily unique visitor mark. I have had a little bit of trouble with that goal. I am currently at the 250 mark, and sometimes hit 300-400 haven’t touched 500 yet.
I actually did hit 800 when I had this one post about making $1,500 from adsense with Proxies.
At the moment I am not making it rich with the ads from this blog so don’t get too jealous yet. I actually haven’t earned one red cent from the adsense ads since yesterday, but Im sure that had a little something to do with the placement right underneath the worlds biggest RSS button.
I will keep you updated on how the ads do on a monthly basis. Im sure if you have a blog that makes money from adsense your probably already laughing wondering why I took so long to get this ready, I have no excuses…
Let’s see how it goes this month.
Picked Up Some Great .info’s.
Well what can I say. I am getting addicted to these damn domains! They are so cheap and there are so many still wonderful domains to register that I had to take advantage. I have talked about why I love .info’s so much before in this post, and thought I would let you guys know my newest domains.
Okay so I was feeling in a movie kind of mood, and checked the top 100 movies list to see if any of the domains with the .info extenstion were still available.
- Shrek-the-third.info: Great Shrek Domain considering this movie is going to be a guranteed hit this summer.
- Shrekpart3.info: Another good one.
- Raiderofthelostark.info: Another good one. You can’t beat Harrison Ford!
- Theempirestrikesback.info: You can’t beat a star wars domain, ca’t wait till the geeks pick up on this.
Picked up some more good movie domains that should be released this summer. Not bad considering I was only paying $.60 a domain. The domains have started to get about 10 hits a day which is nothing to blog about, but since its organic and cheap I don’t mind. Not looking to make a fortune here, but remember small projects do add up!
