Adbrite Rocks the House. And Kontera Sucks.

If you want to make money the easy way subscribe to my RSS feed, and learn how to make money from your feedreader.

There you have it ladies and gentlemen the smoking gun. I took adbrite off of one of my sites for 3 days to try to test kontera. I had heard lots of good things from people like John Chow. And I also read on Randy Brown’s blog about how he was making some good money from it, so decided that I would take the chance and test it out.[Kontera Technologies - ContentLink Publisher Center Reports] 1198445844484

I took down the adbrite inline ads and installed the kontera code instead. I was told in my introductory email that it would take at least 2 WEEKS for kontera to fully optimise for my site and than my earnings would really start to come in.

Well thats just great, but 2 weeks is a RIDICULOUS amount of time to wait for the “specialist” in inline advertising crawl and optimise for my site. That means for 2 weeks I am supposed to sit around and do nothing. I may be lazy, I may be a sloth. BUT I EXPECT BETTER FROM YOU DAMMIT!

In comparison lets take a look at the adbrite earnings:AdBrite - Earnings for December 2007 1198446695359

Now adbrite is mainly a CPM advertiser, that means that they pay you for every impression on their ads. They are great for sites like image hosts, file hosts, proxies, and the particular site I am running. While I am making some good money from adsense I am also making the same amount from adbrite, and will continue to rock it.

Kontera may be good for people that can cut deals with them and get paid on a monthly basis for a set amount. But when I am serving 100,000 ad impressions a day and you report 20,000 page impression it will piss me off.

When you should be indexing all my pages and alls you can manage to do is index my index page it will piss me off.

When you say one thing and than back track on it. It will piss me off.

Here they are saying that I CAN use adbrite along with Kontera:

Google Mail - Kontera support [ ref-00D3Z8d.50063nOqO-ref ] - mubina@gmail

And than I get this email:

Google Mail - RE- Re- Welcome to Kontera - watchblockbusters.com [ ref-00D3Z8d.50063nLj1-ref ] - mubina@gmail

So what do I think you should do??

    Wow - i’m shocked..

Not only because Kontera did not do well, but just as shocked that Adbrite DID do well..

As you know Kontera works great for me on MY site, but what you may not know is that about a year ago i tried Adbrite and it totally sucked for me. I dumped it after a few days..

I guess it really depends on the type of site you’re running the ads on, and what works for one site may not work for another. Like i always say, try everything and keep what works.

Kontera works really good! I’ve seen some great earnings. You’re not making money out of it just because of the In line text ads…I use to have them as well…but since i removed them…kontera has worked wonders for me…
I’d advice you to give it another shot[without the in line text ads this time] …ur net impressions is pretty good..

    best of luck…

I was wondering how much you are making off Adbrite, besides the screenshots. I am a new blogger myself and I don’t know what to choose, Kontera or Adbrite at this point.

Hmm… It seems like AdBrite is doing well for you. I wonder if it will be well for me on Orinity dot com. Hopefully, I can generate some income from AdBrite.

I don’t really like kontera, apparently john chow makes a grand a month from it though. When i tried it, i was only getting like 2-4 cents a click! and the reporting needs serious work too.

    One question mubin:

You said in your post that adbrite is mainly CPM is that for adult ads or something? cos everytime i go to check my account i never see any CPM ads only CPC…

We had the worst experience with Kontera. Thei payouts started dropping in Jan, and when we decided to leave they gave us a higher revenue share but cut the amount of inventory so we ended my making less money from more traffic becuase Kontera is exclusive. On top of that, they refused to let us out of our agreement early and never paid out last check. I can’t think of a worse experience.
