The Dream:
Everyone has it. The simple idea they know will one day make them a Million Dollars. Alex Tew had the great idea for MillionDollarHomepage, and he made a Million Dollars! He was every internet webmaster’s dream come true. A site that made you a million dollars in a few months with hardly any work.
The Reality:
Many people think that Alex got a Million Dollars Cold Hard Cash. The reality is you have to spend money to make money. And in reality Alex had to spend about $60,000 to earn that $1 Million. Now $60,000 might not seem like a lot when the return is $1 Million. But it’s definately alot when you are a college student, and you have no idea if your return will actually be $1 Million.
The SpinOff(s):
Everyone and I mean everyone tried to open their own unique million dollar homepage. Some people had them made specifically for niches, other’s had different sized blocks etc. etc. None of them even came close to having the success of the original.
And than came an announcment on Alex Tew’s Blog that he was going to be opening a different site. A site where regular internet users also could try to make a million dollars. Everyone thought that Alex had another million dollar idea on his hand but did it make him a Million Dollars?

As you can see the new site was only able to pull in $151,700. It’s not chump change by anyone’s standard. But it’s not what was expected from Alex Tew. We all thought that he had a great new idea. But when it came down to it, it was the same old idea but just with a twist…
Wake Up:
Alex it’s time to wake up and start doing some adverising for your advertisers. They paid to be a part of history and you give them NOTHING. Put up some ads on the original Million Dollar HomePage. Maybe some pop-ups, but drive some traffic there dammit!

For someone who was praised for having originality i was disappointed to see him release pixellotto. I really thought he was going to invest his money in making a useful website. Not just trying to get another easy million.
