How to Increase Your Blog’s Technorati, and Backlinks in 5 easy Steps!

If you want to make money the easy way subscribe to my RSS feed, and learn how to make money from your feedreader.

WHY?

Very simple, the higher your technorati/backlinks the more your blog is worth. To advertisers, your readers, potential buyers, and even the mainstream media! Blogs that are listed in the Top 100 at technorati have almost all been published in newspapers and/or have had their blogs discussed on television.

1) Commenting:

Find blogs that are similar to your niche, and start commenting. Most blogs have a plugin enabled that display the top 5-10 commentators. This is in essence a free link for YOU! Think about it, you read these damn blogs anyway, might as well take advatage of a free link. These links are not like the links you guys try to slyly drop in the comments section, these are links that the search engines will follow unlike the ones in the comment section which get the dreaded ‘no follow’ treatment. I don’t have this on my blog yet because the numbers would just be plain depressing.

2) Sponsoring WordPress Themes:

This is a great little trick, especially if you can design these suckers yourself. You put your link in the footer of the theme you design, and than you just upload it, and give it away for FREE. This increases your backlinks, and your technorati ranking. 2 in 1 special baby!

3) Social Bookmarking:

Sites like Digg and StumbleUpon are good for more than just traffic, they can lead to exposure and backlinks, I know I have found myself scouring digg looking for an interesting post so that I could write about it. And as for stumbleupon? Well the proof is in the numbers.

4) Link BAIT:

This is perfect for the technorati ranking. Check out this post. Think about what I have done, I have told about 4 other bloggers that I am KICKING their butt in rankings, and at the end of the post I made it look like a tag game that bloggers participate in. This could blow up and be huge for your blog.

5) Pay For IT!:

Companies like reviewme, payperpost, TLA, and others let you pay bloggers to write/review your site. If your too lazy to do it yourself, than pay someone to do it for you. The lazy mans out.

Let me know how it works out for you. Remember the better your blog is ranked the more popular and the better the worth of your blog gets, so just keep up the content but don’t forget these tips to get to the top of the blog’o’sphere.

    Hi,

Some good basic ideas, succinctly conveyed. Have you gotten anything from Stumbleupon other that rolling over your hit counter? It seems the traffic from there is appalling quality-wise. I entered a few of my sites there and got 3500 uniques in one day of which less than a handful looked at more than one page of my site. It is highly untargetted and sporadic, but free! :)

Nice post. This is a good basic list, but I think the Wordpress themes suggestion is a great one. Many people don’t think about doing this and as you said, it can be extremely beneficial. Nice blog.

Thanks for the tips. I’ve just started blogging seriously this year and it’s been a bit of a journey. Started the whole networking/linking journey in the past month and still trying to learn all the ins and outs. Your tips are very insightful and helpful. I will definitely be putting them into practice.

    Peace!

The site that got the stumbleupon effect only had one page of content really, so I guess the job was done, but I know they liked the site because there were downloads made.

I have started a Blog related to Joomla and I want to know whether giving away some advanced unique tutorials can get me more traffic than normal tutorials.

Some of my tutorials are hard to implement for new users, so maybe they just ignore it. And Suddenly Traffic generated by Stumbleupon for my website dropped to 25%.

Xtraze things like that also do well on Digg, and if the users really like it they would even spread it themselves.
