How to increase your RSS subscribers one comment at a time

When you start a new blog one of the few things that can make or break your blog is the readership.  If the readership continues than you have a point of blogging, otherwise you are just preaching to the mountains.

The community that you build up around your blog are what will make your blog worth coming back to, the readers that come to your site daily are the ones that will blog about your blog and let other people know about your blog.

Getting the one time reader to come to your blog is great and the first step of building your community of readers.  But what you really want to do is increase your RSS subscribers.  Because with a new blog you have not yet built up enough brand recognition to be able get readers to memorize what your domain name would be.

A great method that some people should learn to employ for increase their RSS subscribers is to start using their RSS feed address when they make a comment on another person’s blog post.  This method has been out for awhile but I have noticed a drop in people using it.

DONT:

• Spam peoples blogs with ridiculous comments in the attempt to increase your rss feed.
• Drop the actual link in the comment, this goes for when you try with your site as well.  It is foolish and will make you look like a spammer.
• Start doing this until  you have at least 10-15 posts or start to update regulary.
• Do this on my blog!!
