I WAS RIGHT. Google IS Banning Made For Adsense Sites.

Inevitable:

It was bound to happen, but did we ever think it was going to happen so soon. What am I talking about? I’m talking about the fact that Google has decided that they no longer ‘respect’ arbitrage as a ‘business model.’

Google has finally decided to take the axe to all arbitrage sites. They will close all adsense accounts that have been linked with arbitrage.

I guess this post about Made For Adsense being dead on May 18th which coincides with Jen Slagg’s post on the same subject is QUITE the coincidence now isn’t it?? (That statement is meant to contain NO sarcasm)

What is Arbitrage?:

Well wikipedia explains online arbitrage as:

Online ad services like Yahoo! Search Marketing and Google Adwords allow you to purchase online advertisements which cost you an agreed upon cost per click. These are known as PPC (Pay Per Click) ads. Some ad clicks will cost advertisers $0.01 while some can cost well over $10 depending on the keywords that were associated with the ad. Yahoo and Google both have programs which allow web publishers (aka owners of websites) to place ads on their own websites to make money. Some webmasters will make a website associated with a high paying keyword(s) and place PPC ads on it. Then, they will purchase low cost ads on Yahoo and Google for their websites. The end effect is traffic arbitrage. Low cost traffic is redirected towards pages which contain high paying links. Enough money is made from clicks to cover the traffic cost and turn a profit.

Well that wraps everything up in a nice little package right? If you were able to read past the first line I’m sure it did. But for those of us with ADD and or don’t like reading boring scientific definitions here’s another easier EXAMPLE:

Let’s say for example you have a site filled with content about Rolex watches. You should obviously have ads being displayed about Rolex and other high end watches. Now let’s say you decide to run a ad campaign to drive traffic to your site. You target the keyword ‘digital watches‘ and you don’t pay more than $0.01 CPC (cost per click), when the user comes to your site and clicks an ad you get paid $0.10 - $0.15 CPC. So if 1 out of 10-15 visitors clicks on your ad you still break a profit.

That should explain the situation with what arbitrage is.

When Will the Adsense Accounts be Banned?:

June 1st. Everyone that is getting the ban should have it by June The 1st. The first batch of emails have already been sent. And all publishers should know by June the 1st whether they are getting the axe or not. Here is a copy of the email so those of you that don’t get it can at least satisfy your hunger about what it says:

Hello,

Our specialists regularly review partners participating in the AdSense
network. After a thorough review of your account, our specialists found
that your business model is not a good fit for the AdSense program.

As we’re no longer able to partner with you, your AdSense account and
any related AdSense accounts will be disabled on June 1st, and
ad-serving will cease at that time.

Please rest assured that you will receive payment for all outstanding
earnings in accordance with the standard AdSense payment schedule.
However, you are not eligible for further participation in the AdSense
program.

Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

I love the last part that says “Thank you for your understanding”. That’s a spit in the eye if I ever saw one.

    Well.. this whole situtation sucks.. but let’s be honest;

everybody can have a website now days…. whith the blogosphere and the web2.0 a monkey can make a blog/website using free tools available over the internet spending nothing else than 5 minutes of his life.

how many blogs are outhere with no other purpose than make some quick cash?

I spend a very high part of my free time reading nothing else than bullshit !

Now… these made for adsense sites has multiplied like a virus… and definetly are not going to be a business for google or any other payper click provider.

we have to start looking stuff as a whole… I mean, we need to train our eyes to see the big picture.

now.. looking and the big picture, WE ARE ALL CONECTED; so eventualy if someone is making a lot of money quickly it means that some others has lost…
economy is about resources and the control of them… the balance can’t be change just like that.

these made for adsense sites has been making money for a while… and I think some people made fortunes with them… so eventually they had to be shut down.

Now… I think they should be smartpriced instead of been banned right away!

I think it’s just right that the big G bans them all. A lot of MFA sites are made everyday (heck, some are even sold for high prices), and most are just spam websites.

If Google bans them all, I think the internet will be left with quality websites for everyone.

People are still playing arbitrage with Adsense? Whats the point unless you have a big budget?

Forget about the crumbs, play arbitrage with affiliate programs that convert well and pay out a minimum of $10.
