You might want to download WAMP, back up your website and test plugins locally, for future reference. Could save you some headache if something were to go wrong during a live update.
Anywho, I can’t find any good ways to make money online. My best website is a “set it and forget it” site that is unique and I’ve created myself. It’s just a useful script - a little like your YouTubeDownload but needs more maintenance than that. I usually get about ~200 hits a day, which translates anywhere from $0 to $1, however I got a big traffic hit from Digg, then del.icio.us, and some sites that grab data from those sort of sites. Over two days I got about 10,000 hits and maybe $20 in Adsense profit.
Now the traffic has dropped back to 200 per day. Why does it have to level off there? I don’t understand why the big spike didn’t result in “levelling up” my normal traffic. No matter what I do, that 200 visitors a day is the limit for me.
The site has been up for about a month.
P.S I run a blog and have had people comment that my writing is very easy to read (this post probably does not reflect that, sorry, in a rush) and yet that site gets about 20-50 hits a day (and it’s had one hit from stumbleupon with a spike of about 8000 hits, but again that had no effect on the traffic days later). Also I got this site into DMOZ.
Sigh. What can I do to increase traffic levels? I try to get backlinks, I try to publish them on social networking sites, and I get involved in the target community, yet nothing ever happens….
Oh yeah, I’m only posting because you told me to. The above rambling is entirely your fault
