Making Money With Adsense
Now comes the post that everyone has been waiting for, the money post. Even the dedicated proxy owners would like to drop in here and see if maybe they are missing something when it comes to monetizing their proxies. In this section we will talk only about adsense. In the next section we will discuss link sales, affiliates, and adversal.
The Proof:
Before I start writing about how I was earning hundreds a day I thought it would be better for me to show you the money. I don’t want to be one of those gurus claiming to make $100 dollars a day with no proof. So before I start I’m going to put my money where my mouth is.

That post is mine at digitalpoint showing how I sold proxycastle.com, all the revenue there is for proxycastle.com. So now you can see the money was being made, and people are making money from proxies.
Adsense:
Most people seem to believe that it is against adsense TOS to put ads on a proxy page. This is an urban legend. You CAN put ads on a proxy, but you CAN NOT put ads on a proxified page. The reason you can’t put ads on the proxified page is because you don’t own the content that you are framing. And thus you can’t be held responsible for the content that your frame and neither can you profit from it.
The money you make per click from adsense is not that high. But the amount of clicks is great so it does cover it up in the end.
With a proxy you have to take advantage of everything you can get with regards to adsense. You are allowed 3 ad blocks, 1 link unit, and 2 search boxes per page. DO IT! Pimp the site out with the ads because you need the reader to see them!
Don’t forget the content. A paragraph or two should be enough. Make sure that you write about how the proxy lets you use myspace, youtube etc, so that not just proxy related ads show but also ads related to myspace show.
The link unit should be put right under the address bar of the proxy, and centered. That is the best placement that I have found for a proxy.
I have found having one search bar beneath the address bar and one at the start of the page under your banner is the best bet in terms of return.
You can check out the placement that I have used at http://www.proxycastle.com, the site has been sold but the site design is still the same.

Hi Mubin,
I’ve read the four parts of your article and eventhough inspiring it is still not totally clear to me how you have set all of this up. But I haven’t spent time reading what is written on the sites you have referred to either (that might help).
Have you though of writing a detailed eBook - I mean REALLY detailed - A step by step guide with pictures and everything on how to setup a proxy site that generates income from Adsense?
I know that the people buying the book would have to target their own niche/keywords but that (as I see it) would be a minimal part of the overall project.
Just an idea

I am thinking about writing an ebook! Just have not gotten time to do it yet.
The book will not be just for proxies though, I will be making a book about how to make money online.

Aren’t the web already filled with “making money online books”? I think that you would have a greater success in a specific book that will guide the reader through every small step of the process and include screendumps as well.
To get a few good testimonials before launching the book you could select a few newbies that could test drive it and if they were able to make it work for them then the quality of the book would be top notch and the word would spread like wildfire.
Just my thoughts on the subject.

Thats an even better idea Mikael but the thing is I dont think I could post a whole e-book on how to make money with proxies and make it worth buying for anyone. Maybe if I diversify it would be easier to fill the pages!

Awesome. You are really a great teacher. You covered some stuff in this and your other 3 articles that I dont think I would have ever learned otherwise. Thanks a bunch!

haha, proxycastle.com a year later is now parked and its alexa is 16 million. You should make a last part about NOT buying proxy sites becuase its not worth it. Unless the proxy is under 100K on Alexa and showing signs of popularity or else anything else is not worth it proxies are a dime a dozen. The person who bought proxycastle.com is probably not the only peep buying a flipped proxy site and losing on a bad deal.
