Microsoft to Sell The Ad Space On Digg. No More Adsense On Digg

If you want to make money the easy way subscribe to my RSS feed, and learn how to make money from your feedreader.

digg-money--c160xc120It seems that digg has come to a deal to serve Microsoft ads on its site instead of Google adsense, at this point in time the site is still displaying Google ads, but I think they will stop serving them after the official announcement which is later today.

This could come as a big blow to Google who was earning a huge revenue from the amount of money they were making online with the ads served on Digg.

But with the deal, Microsoft has picked up another piece of Internet property that will match what they have going on other sites.

New Bitmap Image (2)This idea is pretty evil, Microsoft has just cracked a huge egg, and got its ads in front of millions of net geeks that surf digg everyday looking for witty anecdotes that they can share around the water cooler at work.

I guess when you have such a great policy regarding ethics like google’s “Don’t be Evil” tagline you are kinda forced into watching the competition do all the things you wanted to do in life.

This should put to an end the rumors that the site is going to be sold, with a deal like this they are probably making enough now that they can relax and work on making this site better, and working on other projects that they wish too without having to worry about the revenue coming from Digg.

Kevin Rose is one smart young kid and knows how to make money online, he is a venture capitalist’s wet dream and they are literaly fighting to try to invest money in this kid.

If he sneezed and decided to market tissue paper with snot already included Im sure he could get some quick funding from a few of these firms with bubbles.

But I believe what this is leading to is just another web 2.0 bubble, I see it all happening again. The big companies buying all the little ones for ridiculous amounts of money.

What really sucks is the big boys at Google got owned by this guy:

gates-centerfold

Now your telling me this Guy AINT GAY??

In what way is Google any less evil than Microsoft or, while we’re at it, Yahoo!?

You say: ‘I guess when you have such a great policy regarding ethics like google’s “Don’t be Evil” tagline you are kinda forced into watching the competition do all the things you wanted to do in life.’

But Google was already doing what Microsoft will be doing from now on and would still be if MS hadn’t made Digg a better offer.

Google’s ‘don’t do evil’ policy hasn’t stopped them working with China to block access to web sites that contain information on the Tiananmen Square massacre, or independence for Taiwan, for example.

All the ‘don’t do evil’ policy has achieved is an AdSense policy that says you can advertise wine, but not beer. Oh! And it’s okay to take your dog to work.

I think that look is actually malaise smugness rather than camp retro chic, no wonder they were so confused in the 80’s.

i just have to say… ridiculous and doesn’t surprise me.

about the “don’t do evil” policy everything depends on the eye of the observer… as Stephen Newton said, google has proved they sucks…

the only thing i can say about all this is that google or ms has been on top of a big pile of money for so long…. i hope to be alive when some other guys show up and make them disappear….

nothing personal about them; but this is modern economics… and it involves evolution…
and evolution means that when someone has getting his ass way big; some predator has to show up and whoop it’s ass.

I have been really thinking about changing from adsense because I wonder if MSN do better payouts than the crappy $0.01 clicks we can get.

In the UK 1 cent is not even possible lol

I left google ages ago, I don’t get as many sales as I did with google, but slashing advertising costs by about 60% and still making a living will do me.

With Yahoo now, will start looking at MSN as they want to beat google and this deal will be good for them.

    Keep smiling
