Vista Sucks!

Yes, it’s true. As you know I upgraded my computer two days ago and decided to try out Windows Vista to see what the fuss was all about.
I’ll give you this, it is nice on the eyes. I like the sidebar, I like the icons, I like everything about it graphically but on the backend it’s horrible.
It has compatibility issues with everything…
I was able to put up with it and thought it was just growing pains. And than things got out of hand. My favorite blog publisher was not compatible with it either. Okay no problem, we’ll just wait till BlogDesk comes out with a Vista Version.
And than, I tried to open some pictures… BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH! I thought maybe it was just a one-off thing and tried again… BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH! Okay, um so instead of using the regular image viewer I opened it in Paint and it was okay. And than, I tried to play a video and the same damn thing happened. That was it for me.
I got out the XP cd and was formatting so fast I didn’t know what happened.
Sorry for not updating yesterday, the internet was not working last night. Tune in tommorow for a complete breakdown of my earnings this month.

BlogDesk works fine under Vista, you just have to install one missing system file. More details here: http://www.blogdesk.org/en/faq.htm#9

Vista is good when you buy a PC that comes with it. I don’t think it’s worth upgrading thoughif you already have XP

We are living in a world where security and buck fix patches are called “service packs” and every new “release version” is a piece of crap…
I wonder that if every time i make a huge mistake on one of my calculations i may release a “service pack” so my customers, by boss and everyone may say
ok dude… you rock!then be willing to be charged for the “support” needed by my “service pack” when in the first time i was the one who made the mistake…
…you know… just wondering.

I feel your pain man. I have many friends that made the jump early have suffered. Not me though. I actually wrote up a tutorial on skinning your XP to look like Vista if you want to check it out. I love the looks of it and anyone peeking over my shoulder can’t even tell the difference.
BUT I don’t have to find all new apps and all new hardware. It only took about an hour to do too. Cheers.

I installed Vista Ultimate for the first time on the previous weekend as well. Contrary to your experiences, I find it smooth and no BSODs so far.
I never knew about BlogDesk. Going to check it out now.

Why not get a Mac? The Mac operating system is MUCH better than Vista and is a much more advanced operating system. It is fully compatible with everything you have. And check this out—you can run XP OR Vista alongside the Mac operating system using either Bootcamp or Parallels so you have CHOICE. With a PC, it’s either Vista or XP. Most likely, you’ll be stuck with Vista.
I say screw it and go with a Mac. Choice and freedom is better. Stability and happiness is what makes a REAL operating system worthwhile.
You guys shouldn’t be wasting hours and hours reinstalling an operating system, fixing corrupt registries, and battling viruses.
Get a Mac and you’ll see what it’s all about!
