What Do You Do When Your Hosting Goes Down?

If you want to make money the easy way subscribe to my RSS feed, and learn how to make money from your feedreader.

Damn, last 2 days have been horrible for me hosting wise.

Sometime Friday afternoon my host for one of my main websites has gone down. It is the first time that I moved away from my dedicated server and was relying on a different hosting provider. Although the response time is great and I can get almost any querie responded to immediatly.

BUT I HATE HAVING THINGS TAKEN OUT OF MY CONTROL.

I am sitting here write now losing about $60 a day because my sites server is essentially down.

And to make matters even worse I wake up this morning to find out that even my blog is down. Long story short. It seems that my blog hosting which is kept seperate to my other sites hosting was sold to a different company. Now because I bought the hosting through a reseller the host did not have my contact details. As you can see the problem is now solved.

For a second I thought My Blog Was Hacked Again.

You were probably with the same host as me (through a reseller also) as they went down without warning too.

I had to move half a dozen sites, a real nightmare.

You know what downtime in hosting really sucks.. I had it only once for few hours, and I was pretty much scared as it was the first time I saw nothing on the website.

Even if it’s down for an hour, I keep on thinking what users visiting on the same time must be thinking about out blog or website. Because the site even does not show up any maintenance page but simply 404 error.

Hope you don’t have such downtimes again soon… rather never [which is practically not possible]

Any suggestions for website / blog backup?
